Carlo Meguerian

 A product of immigrant parents who wanted a better future for themselves and their future family. In the 1970’s both of my parents at separate times, immigrated to America from Armenia with their siblings and parents without knowing the language or much money. Both parents had to escape through the Arab communist region of Lebanon, my dad in 1974 and my mom in 1976, during war times and survived bombs and bullets for a chance at the American dream. My willingness to fight and never give up to provide my own kids with a better life and world comes from them. 

 

I was born in Los Angeles California on May 29, 1986 and lived there till I was 14 and then moved to Las Vegas in 2000, I went to Clark High School for for the first two years, then Bonanza High School for the next two, graduated in 2004, I’m a product of the Clark County School District and a proud member of the community. I worked as a cook/chef in Las Vegas for 12 years and was part of the culinary union for part of it, now I’m helping run a non-emergency medical transportation company taking our most vulnerable citizens in our community making sure they get to dialysis, daycare, physical therapy, surgery, home from the hospital.ect.

The reason I’m running for school board trustee is to give hope for the future of our community. Nevada is one of the worst education systems in the country and CCSD is the largest school district in Nevada and it has failed our community and our children. We need to focus on educating our future and getting them ready for life after school, to be a productive part of the community and helping it grow. We need education and not agenda driven nonsense in our schools.
